On June 25, 2006, Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, was kidnapped from sovereign Israeli territory in an act of unprovoked aggression by Hamas terrorists. Just two weeks later, on July 12, 2006, Hezbollah terrorists crossed into Israel from Lebanon and launched an indefensible and malicious attack on an Israeli patrol abducting IDF soldiers Udi Goldwasser and Eldad Regev.

Stop Iran!
Since being elected to office in 2005, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has continually called Israel to be ?wiped off the map? while aggressively pursuing a belligerent nuclear weapons program under the guise of a peaceful nuclear energy program. Intelligence experts estimate that Iran will have full nuclear capability in as little as 6-12 months. Additionally, Iran is fighting proxy wars with Israel as it provides training and funding to Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the Palestinian territories and Hizballah in Lebanon all of which are fighting active, low-scale wars against Israel. Thus far, sanctions passed by the United Nations Security Council have not stopped Iran?s drive for nuclear power.
Take Action:
- Encourage your Senators and Congressman to support the Iran Counter-Proliferation Act which strengthens the sanctions regimes against Iran and increases economic and political pressure on the Iranian regime to halt its nuclear ambitions. See http://www.aipac.org/694.asp#1007 for more information.
Visit Israel!
What better way to support Israel than to come for a visit (or better yet, come to live)! Israel offers an array of great programs from 10-day birthright trips to 5-10 month work and study programs. Whether you are into environmentalism or working with kids, Israel is the place for you.
Take Action:
Even though I'm not Jewish...Israel is one of the few causes I feel good about supporting.
